After all the recent snow and cold weather, we thought we should try to cheer ourselves and you up by talking sbout some of the Spring trends on offer.

Firstly pastels are big this spring, whether you want sheer tights such as Jonathan Aston’s Colour Palette range which includes both subtle and strong shades, or if you are not brave enough yet for sheers, you could try Jonathan Aston or Gipsy who both offer pastels in 40 denier. Children are catered for also with Trasparenze Corrine 40 denier tights in an array of subtle colours as well as stronger more vibrant colours. Gipsy also have brought out a 60 denier footless tight in a lovely mint colour for this spring.

Gipsy 40 Denier Baby Pink Tights

Crayola Bright colours are also trending this season. Again both Jonathan Aston and Gipsy offer great choices. If you prefer footless, you could try Trasparenze Dorella in Cina which is a cobalt blue , Bouganville which is a bright pink or Viola which is a lovely Violet. Trasparenze also have Stockings (Sandra) or Holdups (Miranda) in various colours.

Polka Dots come in a range of sizes this season, our ranges tend to have smaller spots which are, perhaps, more subtle and wearable. It tights are your preference, you might like Charnos Spotty tights in a very wearable natural colour or Charnos Mini Spot tights which are opaque. If your preference is for holdups, you might like the Ballerina or if your preference is for stockings, we have Trasparenze Rame. If you prefer just a hint of polka dot, look no further than Gipsy’s footless which is a plain black footless with a polka dot cuff.

Kate Middleton uses this genius tights tip to keep her high heels in place, and it’ll only set you back a fiver

It was recently revealed that it is required of the women in the family to wear tights during public occasions

KATE MIDDLETON regularly wears dresses and heels to public appearances and nearly always wears tights, in keeping with royal etiquette.

And it turns out that she has a handy hack for ensuring that she never slips out of heels and that her tights don’t slide round during an event.

The expectant Duchess of Cambridge, 36, was recently pictured with sticky pads inside her shoes, which help to secure her inside her heels – genius!

And the best part is that the product won't break the bank.

You can buy the must-have, non-slip tights from John Lewis for just £5, and they come in nude, black or tan shades.

It was recently revealed by royal insider Victoria Arbiter that it is required of the women in the family to wear tights during public occasions.

A close-up shot recently revealed that Kate uses sticky padded tights to stop her slipping out of her heels

She said to Insider: “You never see a royal without their nude stockings. Meghan, from what I can see from the engagement photographs, it doesn't look like she was wearing tights or stockings.

"I would say that's really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires."

Indestructible ‘rip-proof’ tights now exist

Indestructible ‘rip-proof’ tights now exist and they promise FIFTY ladder-free wears… but they don’t come cheap

Start-up company Sheerly Genius claims to have solved every woman's most common tights problem

EVERY woman knows the pain of pulling on a fresh pair of tights to find they've snagged within the first few hours of wearing them.

Luckily, there's now a hosiery brand which claim to have invented a ‘rip-proof, snag-proof, life-proof’ pair of tights which last for FIFTY wears.

The brand claims to use 'ballistic grade fibres' - that's the same thing used in bulletproof vests.

These fibres are said to be stronger than steel.

But it doesn't stop there: the material used is said to still be soft to touch, while being non-toxic and anti-bacterial.

Sheerly Genius claim the tights will last for 50-wears without snagging - so they might be worth investing in.

Sheerly Genius is still being crowdfunded, and while they've already raised over their initial target of $25,000 (£18k), there's still a way to go.

This means the genius tights are not yet for sale, sadly.

But the good news is you can pre-order a pair now for $79 (£57) from the company's website.

Race you to the checkout - you really can't argue with those cost-per-wear figures.

Perfect ideas for wearing leggings this spring

The mild weather is coming soon, which means that I officially start to release my semi-transparent tights. However, I know that I still have to dress with caution.

For my outfits to be appropriate for the different temperature changes this spring, I combine my tights with leggings ! The legwarmers will keep me warm, and add a punch of color, like yellow or burgundy , to all my outfits.

To prepare for the new season, I gathered some ideas of outfits to arrange my leggings . I am often asked what shoes to wear with leggings. For my spring looks, I will wear them with my boots because they are perfect for this season, in addition to being a classic in my wardrobe.
Here are 3 ideas for wearing leggings this spring!
With a denim skirt

A denim mini skirt is an essential item for spring! Agency hold her with a XXL white shirt and a pair of graphic tights for a casual look that will follow you everywhere. Complete your outfit with a pair of gray leggings (or any other color) and you'll have the perfect outfit, no matter how hot it will be!

With a sweater dress

A dress-sweater is super easy to match with leggings. For spring, I reinvent my classic black dress by combining it with a pair of burgundy leggings . Again, I opt for a graphic tights to balance the more classic side of my outfit.

With a knit dress

A knit dress is also perfect for spring, especially when worn with a light jacket and a pair of leggings. This blue dress fits wonderfully with mustard yellow leggings and you can wear this outfit in the office and for your 5 @ 7 !

Will you go for a pair of leggings this spring?

Rachel

TIGHT SPOT
We test black tights to show what the different deniers look like in real life

Stuck in a tight spot? Denier refers to the thickness of the yarns used to knit a pair of tights. The higher the denier, the thicker the fabric

BLACK tights hide pasty pale skin, slim thighs and help keep your modesty when wearing a bum-skimming mini skirt.

Every woman has at least one pair in her underwear drawer, and they were given the fashion thumbs up after leggy models wore them on the Chanel, Balenciaga and Givenchy autumn/winter catwalks.

But buying the perfect hosiery can be a challenge - lingerie departments have racks of nylons that all look the same, but are labelled with different denier numbers.

Denier refers to the thickness of the yarns used to knit a pair of tights. The higher the denier, the thicker the fabric.

Deniers lower than 20 are referred to as sheer tights, which are made of fine threads and offer light leg coverage. While, opaque tights begin at 30 denier and mean you won't be able to see as much skin through the fabric.

Here, model Sabine Roll tests black tights to show what the top six denier looks like in real life.

10 denier

Very thin black tights look elegant with long hemlines - think pretty floral maxi dresses and metallic midi skirts.

But they are much less forgiving on the legs, particularly if you have knobbly knees, and they tend to ladder really easily.

Charnos Elegance Tights, 10 denier, £4.99 - buy now at UK Tights
15 denier

Sometimes it's nice to see a bit of leg.

Fifteen denier tights offer pretty much the same coverage as 10, but are more ladder-resistant.

Opt for matt styles over gloss and pair with chic black shoes.

Charnos Elegance Tights, 15 denier, £6.50 - buy now at Tights Tights Tights
40 denier

A nice thick pair of tights gives a nod to the 60s when paired with A-line mini skirts and pointy flat shoes.

They also look stylish with a splash of colour, such as a candyfloss pink coat or checked dress.

Forty denier are much sturdier than sheer tights and will last long if you take good care of them.

Supersoft Opaque Tights, 40 denier, £4 - buy now at M&S

It's consider a major fashion faux pas to wear tan shoes with black tights.

When wearing 60 deniers, keep things simple in black heels or an on-trend patent brogue.

Stock up on 60 deniers with seamless waistbands so you never see a visible line under dresses.

Keep your tights hole, snag and ladder-free by washing them inside out, ideally in a wash bag.

Supersoft Opaque Tights, 60 denier, £4 - buy now at M&S
80 denier

Opaques are the tights of choice in colder weather - as a general rule, the higher the denier the warmer you'll be.

Never tumble-dry your tights or put them on a radiator – the heat will kill the stretch.

The best way to dry them is flat or draped over a clothes horse.

Supersoft Opaque Tights, 80 denier, £6 - buy now at M&S
100 denier

A must for chilly days. One hundred denier tights are fully opaque and do not let any skin peek through.

If you're going for a heavier denier, the best way to eradicate static is to apply a non-greasy body lotion to the legs, then wet your palms before putting on your tights.

Why Statement Tights Should be a Staple in Your S/S18 Wardrobe

From floral patterned to gossamer iterations studded with crystals, AnOther Magazine makes a case for incorporating tights into your springtime ensembles

The origins of tights can be traced back to ancient forms of dress, with some of the earliest iterations taking the form of thin strips of insulating animal hide wrapped around the legs. While materials have changed and technologies have advanced, the function of hosiery remains much the same as ever it did. Such close proximity to the body allows for ease of movement, and thus stockings – or ‘panti-legs’, as they were coined in 1950s film and theatre circles, sewn into the briefs of actresses and dancers – meant that pulling on a pair is akin to sporting a synthetic second skin.

Fashion, too, adopted tights as a wardrobe staple, as their form-fitting stretch – right up to the waist – eliminated the need for suspenders and garters. By the 1960s, thanks to the likes of Pierre Cardin and Mary Quant, they were the most popular form of undergarment, contouring and shaping the thighs and buttocks. As hemlines were hitched ever shorter, they began to become accessories in their own right, adorning the lower extremities with pattern and colour. Opaque or sheer, woolen or Lycra, tights became emblematic of a particular kind of sexiness that is difficult to pinpoint. David Bowie, too, championed the garment, in his gender fluid garb: “I still derive immense pleasure from remembering how many hod-carrying brickies were encouraged to put on lurex tights and mince up and down the high street, having been assured by know-it-alls like me that a smidgen of blusher really attracted the birds,” he wrote in 2001.

For S/S18, tights were back on the runways with a vengeance: at Gucci, in gossamer stockings that were studded with crystals; at Fendi, where logomania ruled supreme right down to the model’s legs printed with ‘FF’ insignias; at Richard Quinn – whose floral spandex engulfed the entire body – and in Demna Gvsalia’s pull-on Balenciaga knife boots, which were printed with images of desert-scapes. Far from just a practical item offering supreme comfort, it has been proven time and time again that tights make for a strong statement – which is reason enough to incorporate a pair into your wardrobe for the transitional springtime months.

VICTORIA JUSTICE at Kate Spade New York Bloom Bloom Event in New York 03/20/2018

Victoria Justice: Kate Spade New York Blossom Cold Shoulder Dress

Miss Victoria styling a Blossom Cold Shoulder Dress . I wish I could compare it to past looks of hers, but to be perfectly, bluntly, bitchily honest, we never really made note of her style over the years. This seems about right for her. The booties are working better with the darker print, but we’re honestly not sure what to make of the sheer tights. Y/N?
