Every year many of us say we don’t like doing anything special on Saint Valentine’s day, only to end up doing the opposite. You aren’t the only one who somehow celebrates -at home or going out- Valentine’s day. We all end up buying a little something to our other one, choosing seductive red lingerie and, of course, matching lovely tights, stockings or hold ups to complete the look. Our Valentines Hosiery 2018 Guide includes our four top favourite leg styles to celebrate the 14th February the proper way. Keep reading to discover what are these four top styles.

Let’s play find the red hearts!

Follow the dots hearts to discover Giulia’s latest styles, designed precisely with the sole intention of being worn on Saint Valentine’s day. Don’t they aren’t cute, because, well, look at them. Aren’t they super cute? The black hearts tights above seem to invite you to play find the red hearts. At the same time, they feel like the kind of style you can wear after Valentines. We’d wear them with a mini skirt or maybe some shorts and knee-high boots.

What if you want to go for a proper Valentines look in red? These Giulia tights are so cute!

If you want to go for all over hearts red tights, this other Giulia style is just what you need. Just like the patterned tights before, here you have the most classic symbol of Saint Valentine’s day, the hearts. So, why not? Why not going for a classic heart pattern? After all, some classics never die.

And talking about classics…Get the look: Fiore Yara Floral Hold Ups

Floral details in red aren’t particularly new in the hosiery world, but still, we can’t deny we fall for every pair of floral hosiery we see out there. These hold ups above are part of our new Fiore hosiery collection. We haven’t talked you much about this brand yet, but if you have been following our Social Media updates and you’re subscribed to our newsletter, you surely have seen how amazing are some of Fiore’s leg styles.Love these? Take a closer look at these lovely hold ups

One of the to-go brands for Saint Valentine’s day is Aubade. This French brand is one of the bestsellers in our sister site, UK Lingerie. We had stocked Aubade stockings in the past, but they sold out quick. So, if you really like these stockings, just go for them before they sell out. By the way, lingerie matching these hold ups is available at UKLingerie.com and it’s to die for (in case you’re looking for the whole look).

We hope you have enjoyed reading about the four Valentines Hosiery 2018 styles we love the most. For more inspiration, head out to our Valentine’s hosiery page.

These Are The Next Hosiery Trends As Seen In Paris

When you are into fashion, ‘Paris’ always makes you think of style. We think of elegance, glamour and a sophisticated (yet effortless) looks. If you have ever been to Paris, you surely must have noticed nobody goes out without hosiery out there, especially in winter. Of course, the most important show in the lingerie industry had to be in Paris: the Salon International de la Lingerie.

Every year, when we visit Paris Salon International de la Lingerie, we pay attention to all the next hosiery trends. This helps us know what brands would be introducing in the next seasons and what we’ll be seeing in fashion magazines, too. At the same time, this is a great opportunity for us to bring you the latest trend insights before anyone else.

If you are crazy about fashion and, more particularly, absolutely crazy about hosiery trends, you cannot miss this.
Velvet hosiery is ON!

In the past, velvet tights were exclusive to the Autumn-Winter fully opaque hosiery styles. That was it. Classic and minimal. Things have changed in the last two seasons, though. Everything changed last winter, right after we stocked these Girardi velour hold ups. Everyone went crazy for them and we realised we had to embrace this style.

So, this year we made sure to stock a large selection of velvet hosiery, starting with these Oroblu velvet leggings and these Pretty Polly velvet-effect tights. Our latest arrival, the Wolford Emily Tights in the picture above, which put together two trends: velvet tights and statement tights. These velvet tights include a message, put together in a nice way to create a beautiful back seam effect.
Shaping your curvesJust arrived: Wolford Whitney Control Top Fishnet Tights

Shapewear is one of the next hosiery trends that’s going to be big in 2018-19. To understand how this trend is evolving, you think of shapewear as a sort of body-contouring, this is, wearing hosiery to shape your body curves and do the best for your shape. Think of tummy control hosiery, bum lifting tights and, of course, leg support. It’s not only about looking good, but also about giving your legs the care they deserve.
Coloured stockings, the hit of 2019!

Best-selling Trasparenze Valentina Hold Ups, available in 12 colours

As you know, lingerie and hosiery often go together. In 2019 you’ll see your lingerie drawer go brighter, as coloured lingerie and hosiery walks it way back to fashion. Both pastel tones and bright rainbow-inspired colours will be on trend, always combined with matching lingerie. One style you can always count on if you want to go for colourful stockings or hold ups is Trasparenze Valentina hold ups, one of our absolute best-sellers out there.

Which of these trends do you think you’ll be wearing in 2019? Are you ready to start wearing before everyone else?

The Tights Dilemma When it is, and isn't, acceptable to wear tights

You might not want to believe it, but summer is drawing to end; the days are getting cooler and shorter, with an ever-present risk of showers - so you might be thinking about reaching for your tights. Here are our rules, disobey at your peril...
1. Tights are for winter only

Come rain or shine, tights should not be worn until 1 October, and they need to come off the minute April arrives. This season there's an exception to the rule in the form of Chanel and Proenza Schouler's lace or fishnet versions; but think pretty, not practical - these should be worn to make a statement, not for additional warmth.

2. Black tights work with some outfits

But coloured tights can work really well too, as long as certain rules are applied – namely no zig zags, stripes or pop print. Keep it muted and in keeping with the tones of your outfit.
3. Nude tights are acceptable

NEVER during the summer and only in a matte finish that exactly matches your skin tone. You don't want the shiny species – think second skin not mannequin.

4. For the more glamorous occasions, think of tights as friend not foe

Choose a pair with maximum control to avoid any unnecessary bumps and if they're black, you can go for a slight sheen – this is slimming on the leg.

5. Experiment with your footwear

Tights with trainers (but NEVER with socks worn over them) can look effortlessly cool but, for a safer bet, they look most elegant with pumps, heels or boots.

6. If in doubt, wear sheer black.

HOW TO WEAR TIGHTS (FOR THE ONE WHO HATES PANTYHOSE)

How to wear tights (for the one who hates pantyhose)

I will never get rid of my tights, but I understand that many of you have a relationship love / hate with their tights.

Some find that they are too irritating, too tight or just uncomfortable, but we can not deny the fact that they are essential to create outfits adapted to the different seasons.

So, whether you love them or hate them, I have some practical tips that will convince even the most skeptical to give their tights a second chance.
Here are options of tights to wear even if you DETEST pantyhose!

For the girl who hates pantyhose because they are tearing each other apart

You do not support pantyhose because, no matter how careful you are, they end up breaking up? Opt for opaque tightsrather than semi-transparent. Opaque tights have a higher denier level and are less likely to snag and mesh. Do not be caught off guard with a mesh pantyhose!

For the girl who hates pantyhose because they do not keep warm

Do not wear nylon stockings because it's too cold in the winter? Forget the nylon tights during the cooler months and choose tights in other materials like cotton or merino wool . These materials are perfect for the winter and will keep you warm.

For the girl who hates pantyhose because they shake at the waist

Are you convinced that all tights are uncomfortable and too tight? You probably buy the wrong size! Pantyhose sizes are found by crossing your weight and size and often differ in size from jeans. If your tights are uncomfortable, opt for a larger size. You will feel much better!

For the girl who hates pantyhose because they are irritating

Your legs are irritated by tights? If you have sensitive skin, shop several types of tights in different materials to find what suits you more. Our vitamin tights are super soft and will definitely not leave your skin irritated. Enriched with vitamin E, passion fruit oil and Monoi de Tahiti, this tights are filled with natural microcapsules that will moisturize your skin all day long.

If you hate pantyhose, will you give them a second chance?

Xo,

Rachel
